MacDonald Island Park is home to a large fitness centre including free weights, cardio machines and weight machines, a running track with workout pockets and basic workout materials and a new high performance training centre. We also provide personal training services and a wide range of fitness and HPTC classes and programs.

      We are crushing the myth of “big and bulky” one woman at a time! The benefits of strength training are tremendous, yet many women still fear the weight section. In this 8 week long course we will teach you how to use various strength equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, cables, machines and others safely and efficiently. By the end of the program, you will be able to program your own workout and execute it with confidence! This program is delivered by our fantastic personal trainers. Drop-Ins welcome!

Each class provides a full body workout as well as postnatal specific core work and flexibility. This is also a fantastic opportunity to connect with other new moms in your community.       Our HPTC Winter Season Open Gym gives you the option of utilizing the High Performance Training Centre (HPTC) space on your own where you will be able to utilize all the different pieces of equipment the HPTC has to offer such as the Olympic lifting platform, multiple squat racks, tire flipping, climbing rope, Rogue rig, rowers, assault bikes and much more! HPTC Winter SeasonOpen Gym is available during the peak times of the Fitness Centre 3 times per week from 5pm to 8:30pm! No more waiting for the racks! Drop Ins can be purchased at any Guest Services or Fitness desk locations.
