2026 Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon returns September 20th.

Get ready to lace up your running shoes! The Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon is back on Sunday, September 20, 2026, bringing runners of all levels back to the scenic streets and trails of Fort McMurray.

The almost fully sold-out 2025 marathon showcased the incredible growth this event has seen over the years, evolving from a half-marathon to a full marathon format while still capturing the community spirit that has been its trademark since the very beginning.

The 2026 Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon will take place at MacDonald Island Park and will feature distances for runners of all ages and abilities, including:

‍·         Gatorade 42.2 km (Full Marathon)‍ ‍

·         Servus Credit Union 21.1 km (Half Marathon)

·         Higher Health 10 km

·         WBEA 5 km

·         Pembina 3 km

·         CEDA Kid’s Fun Run – a fan-favorite event where young runners get their chance to shine!

Back again in 2026 is also the Run for a Reason program which enables local charities and non-profits to raise crucial funds through the efforts of dedicated marathon participants. This fundraising opportunity showcases the commitment of the RRC to local non-profit organizations and supporting them in achieving their goals in our region. ‍

Early bird registration for the 2026 Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon begins May 1, 2026. Non-profit and charitable organizations looking to participate in the Run for a Reason program can register from May 1 until May 31, 2026.
