Shell Place Amenities
The Badminton Centre is a popular amenity used daily by the community. The space includes four courts in a climate-controlled environment allowing for year-round badminton game play.
This exclusive area houses multiple squat racks, an Olympic lifting platform, assault bikes, Prowler sleds, rope climbs and much more. The HPTC is a great way for guests to get an effective workout, become familiar with new equipment and enjoy the growing community of fitness enthusiasts at the HPTC.
Home of the Fort McMurray Giants, our community’s Western Major Baseball League team, the Legacy Dodge Field is a modern baseball diamond in a scenic downtown location. The Legacy Dodge Field is a highlight venue and can be found hosting tournaments like the Baseball Canada Cup and can also be transformed to host events like the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games Opening Ceremonies.
The SMS Equipment Stadium is a multi-use outdoor performance stadium capable of hosting large scale sporting events, community gatherings, concerts and celebrations. The SMS Equipment Stadium is used for regular season game play by both the Fort McMurray Monarchs and the Keyano College Huskies; the venue is fully equipped and has hosted multiple provincial and national sport tournaments. Since opening in 2015, the venue has welcomed numerous high-profile performers to the stage as during concerts and community events.
This state-of-the-art amenity is used daily for indoor activities like soccer, archery tag, teambuilding and more. It is a great place to bring outdoor activities inside, offering a secure place to run, jump and play. The space previously hosted the 2018 Alberta Winter Games – Archery Competition, highlighting its versatility of use.
