Total® Fitness Centre
Exercise benefits your mind, body and soul. MacDonald Island Park makes it easier than ever to get fit. Whether you’re an athlete in training, a gym beginner unsure of all those machines or simply wanting to lead an active, healthy lifestyle, our fitness centre is the place for you.
The Total® Fitness Centre is open to patrons 15 years or older, and features a variety of cutting edge cardio machines, free weights and cable weights. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to answer any questions you may have and show you around the centre. We even have personal trainers on staff who can work with you to reach your specific fitness goals.
Our Total® Fitness Centre features:
- Cardio machines (treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes (upright and recumbent), climbers and summit trainers)
- Drop-in and registered fitness classes

The Total® Fitness Centre is designed to help you feel comfortable and motivated to meet your fitness goals. Our state-of-the-art strength, cardiovascular and specialized equipment adapts to whatever kind of workout you’re after. It’s friendly enough for first-time users and advanced enough to challenge high-level athletes. The Total® Fitness Centre is open to those 15 years of age and older. Youth 13-14 years of age are permitted to use the Total® Fitness Centre upon successful completion of our FitStart for Teens orientation program and when accompanied by an adult.
All fitness classes at MacDonald Island Park can be preregistered or, if space is available, on a drop-in basis. Registering for a program allows all our guests at MacDonald Island Park to reserve and guarantee their spot in advance. This allows our Fitness Department to analyze the minimum amount of participants to avoid cancellation of a program. In addition, our guests receive a considerable discount for registering for a program in its entirety. Drop In is welcome in all fitness programs but it’s based on a first come first serve basis. While no discounts exist within our drop-in prices, members are paying to have more flexibility to suit their busy schedules without committing to the entirety of a program. This also allows our members to join a program that has already started.
