A performance stadium echoing with the shouts of frenzied fans. A baseball/softball tournament centre ringing with the crack of a bat. A field house alive with teams immersed in competition. A conference centre bustling with ideas. A non-profit hub humming with the voices of a diverse community. A community park filled with laughter. These and more are the sights and sounds of Shell Place, the home of the Wood Buffalo region’s premier sport and entertainment experience. In 2015 the iconic Shell Place experience begins, and changes the sport and entertainment landscape in Fort McMurray forever.
Shell Place Shared & Non-Profit Space The heart of the Wood Buffalo region is the non-profit organizations that serve the community. In a continuing commitment to these organizations Shell Place is designed with a dedicated shared space that will serve as a hub for several of the groups providing essential services to the community. From minor sports organizations to those serving other needs this shared space will enable the non-profit organizations to meet their mandate while also working in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
Architecture: ATB, 360 Architecture, Clark Builders and Turner Construction Company are the contractors charged with delivering Shell Place in consultation with the MacDonald Island Park Board of Directors.
