Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge returns after successful inaugural year
(Fort McMurray, AB, June 21, 2013) – After a very successful initial year Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge will return September 26-29 for four days of team-oriented competition and fun at MacDonald Island Park.
Presented through a partnership between Noralta Skating Club and MacDonald Island Park, Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge is an opportunity for local companies and organizations and their employees to engage in healthy competition while developing social networks. Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge promotes, enables, and supports teamwork, company pride and corporate health and wellness while raising funds for Noralta Skating Club.
Teams will participate in team-building events such as Human Bonspiel, Urban Orienteering, Rock Climbing Challenge, and more. Utilizing the many amenities at MacDonald Island Park, teams compete against each other for bragging rights as Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge Champions. Finning Canada is defending champion, while Coldwell Banker and Suncor Energy rounded out the top three in last year’s competition.
“The Corporate Challenge 2012 was tremendously successful,” said Jodie Mercier, General Manager of Sport and Recreation at MacDonald Island Park. “Individuals on over 20 teams from local businesses and organizations collaborated to come out on top of the leader board, and had fun along the way. We are excited to partner with the Noralta Skating Club again this year to bring this event back to the community, and we anticipate a strong response given the rousing success of last year. We’d also like to thank AECON for coming on board as a partner in 2013.”
