Wood Buffalo celebrates Sports Day in Canada with exciting weekend of ringette
The Fort McMurray Ringette Association is celebrating Sports Day in Canada with the Aurora Ring Tournament, a three-day showcase of ringette taking place from November 28-30, in partnership with Big Spirit Wood Buffalo.
The Aurora Ring Tournament will feature teams from around Alberta competing in games to be played at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and Anzac Recreation Centre presented by Nexen Energy, a CNOOC Limited Company. This event will include National Ringette League (NRL) players on the ice for a “Skate with the Pros” session. Interested individuals can get more information and sign up in advance to try ringette at cometryringette.ca.
The weekend will also feature games between National Ringette League teams Calgary RATH and Edmonton WAM! as follows:

“We are delighted to welcome the Aurora Ring Tournament to the region this month,” said Trevor Boe, vice president of Fort McMurray Ringette Association. “As we head into 2015 and the upcoming excitement of the Tim Hortons Canadian Ringette Championships taking place at the end of March in Wood Buffalo, this provincial tournament is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about ringette and see some of the passion and action of a sport that is growing in popularity across our nation and around the world.”
