Transportation details for Northern Kickoff II on June 27 announced
The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to announce the details of the free public transportation available to Northern Kickoff II ticket holders in Fort McMurray, Anzac/Gregoire Lake Estates and Fort McKay on June 27. Northern Kickoff II is the regular season Canadian Football League game featuring the Toronto Argonauts vs. the Edmonton Eskimos taking place at SMS Equipment Stadium at Shell Place.
“We had tremendous community response to the free transportation provided for the Northern Kickoff presented by Shell on June 13, and thanks to our partners at Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Transit, Diversified Transportation and Sparksman Transportation we are again able to offer complimentary transportation to Northern Kickoff II on June 27,” said Kelsey Stefanizyn, Events Manager of the RRC. “All ticket holders, including those accessing this free transportation, are also encouraged to bring a donation of cash or non-perishable food items for the Purolator Tackle Hunger® program, a partnership between Purolator and the Toronto Argonauts benefitting the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.”
Ticket holders can access this free transportation by showing their Northern Kickoff II ticket. There are four dedicated Northern Kickoff II transit routes available in Fort McMurray beginning at 12:30 pm on June 27. These four routes are:
· Gregoire/Beacon Hill
· Prairie Loop
Transit buses on the Timberlea, Thickwood and Gregoire/Beacon Hill routes will pick up passengers at all designated transit stops on these routes. Transit on the Prairie Loop route will travel from the Prairie Loop Park and Ride along Franklin Avenue to collect passengers en route to MacDonald Island Park. Maps of the routes are available for viewing at northernkickoff.ca. In addition to the collector routes the following shuttle locations will provide convenient access to the free transportation:
· Syncrude Athletic Park
