The Trews entertain fans with raucous show at MacDonald Island Park
Five-time Juno Award nominees The Trews presented by Rock 97.9 FM lit up Nexen Field House with an enthusiastic performance on Friday night.
The Toronto-based Nova Scotia natives stopped at MacDonald Island Park as part of their 22-city North America-wide Big Night Out Tour and energized the audience with many of their 13 top 10 hits including “Not Ready to Go” “Tired of Waiting” “So She’s Leaving” and “Misery Loves Company.” The Trews closed with a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ In the Free World.”
“The Trews are a guaranteed good time, and they showed why it’s the case tonight,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “Their energetic, upbeat style engaged the crowd and brought life to what was a special weekend at the Island. I’d also like to thank The Trews for performing the national anthem at the opening ceremonies of the Ringette Alberta U16B Provincials prior to their show.”
The Big Night Out Tour is in support of The Trews’ fourth studio album, Hope & Ruin, which reached the top 10 on the Canadian charts. Toronto-based and Thunder Bay natives Poor Young Things opened for The Trews.
