The Beach Boys bring ‘Good Vibrations’ to sold out crowd
(Fort McMurray, AB, May 4, 2012) – Synonymous with the California lifestyle and the top selling American act all-time for albums and singles, The Beach Boys presented by 100.5 K-Rock brought a sold out Nexen Field House to life on Saturday night.
Performing a string of its chart-topping hits including “Good Vibrations,” “I Get Around,” “Barbara Ann” and “Kokomo” among other classic songs, The Beach Boys entertained an energetic audience at Nexen Field House and set the stage for the summer in the process.
“What an incredible and crisp sound The Beach Boys brought to the Island tonight,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “They haven’t lost a beat and it was easy to see why they’ve sold more than 100 million albums worldwide since changing popular music forever back in the 1960s. More importantly, it was a crowd pleasing performance that has everyone excited for a great summer in our community.”
Major fans of Island hospitality, The Beach Boys invited ‘Mi Team’ members Kailey Allen and Heather Grant on stage towards the end of its set. The duo brought the crowd to its feet as Grant even took a turn on lead guitar.
“At MacDonald Island, ‘Mi Team’ members get the chance to make a difference and to have fun at work and this moment was a shining example of that,” said Reid. “We look forward to what’s next as we look to bring more special events to the community in the months ahead.”
