Syncrude announced as title partner for Grand Slam of Curling, the National
(Fort McMurray, AB, December 11, 2013) – Syncrude Canada Ltd. was announced as title partner on Wednesday for Grand Slam of Curling, the National, to be held at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre from March 12-16 and broadcast live across Canada on Sportsnet. This sponsorship continues to build on the strong relationship between MacDonald Island Park and Syncrude, which includes the title sponsorship of Syncrude Aquatic Centre.
Scott Sullivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Syncrude, made the announcement to a gathering of dignitaries and community partners and members, including the Honourable Don Scott, Associate Minister of Accountability, Transparency, and Transformation and MLA Fort McMurray-Conklin and Mike Allen, MLA Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo.

This event will allow residents and visitors alike to experience the best that professional curling has to offer. The fact that this bonspiel brings together the top men’s teams from across Canada and around the world should provide extra incentive for people of all ages to come out and cheer on their favourite,” said Sullivan.
The National presented by Syncrude is a five-day event that will bring 18 of the best men’s curling teams in the world to Fort McMurray on the heels of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. All-event General Admission passes to the event are available at macdonaldisland.ca.
