Surfaces: Exploration of Light, Texture and Contrast set to open

The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation invites the public to the grand opening of Surfaces: Exploration of Light, Texture and Contrast on Thursday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Surfaces: Exploration of Light, Texture and Contrast is the work of artists Joanne Pilgrim, Tamara M. Hannah and Lil Barefoot and presents a variety of media such as fused glass, ceramic tiles, paintings and collages. The artists invite viewers to interpret the artwork and explore their passion for colour, light and shadow.
“It’s been a special year at MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery and we’re looking forward to this particular exhibition,” said Michele Taylor, Director of Aquatic and Leisure Services at MacDonald Island Park. “Surfaces is a true mixture of a variety of materials and textures and is one we hope is experienced by the community.”
Light refreshments and appetizers will be served at the grand opening. Surfaces: Exploration of Light, Texture and Contrast will be open until May 30.
