Regional Recreation Corporation to hold first Mi KIDS Day August 17
(Fort McMurray, AB, July 21, 2014) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is excited to invite you to the first Mi KIDS Day on August 17 at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.
Mi KIDS Day is designed for local youth to participate in a variety of activities under the guidance of ONE Team Instructors. Participants will have the opportunity to explore several different activities during the day, which take place from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Youth can register for three different activities, choosing from such options as: Child Mind (3-7 years old), Mi Kids Art Workshop (8 years of age and older), Climbing Wall (8 years of age and older), SNAG (Start New at Golf, all ages) and Swim to Survive (8 years of age and older).
“The success of the Mi KIDS program has enabled several local youth to enjoy sport, recreation and social programs and activities they may have found difficult to access without financial support,” said Rob MacGregor, Chair of the Mi KIDS Committee. “Mi KIDS Day has been developed to not only celebrate the success of the program with some of our past participants but to allow more local youth to enjoy the amenities and programs of the RRC for free and to explore all the amazing opportunities available to youth in this region.”
Registration for the day is offered free to local youth 3-17 years of age and includes free lunch. More information and online registration can be located at macdonaldisland.ca. Registration is limited and early registration to secure participation in Mi KIDS Day is encouraged.
