Proposed outdoor expansion community engagement sessions get underway
The third and final series of community engagement sessions regarding the proposed outdoor expansion at MacDonald Island Park got underway on Monday.
Two community engagement sessions were held on Monday as Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park delivered a presentation while facilitating a discussion with community members and representatives from sports, non-profit, and not-for-profit organizations.
“This is the most important part of the process because the idea of an outdoor expansion at MacDonald Island has been community-driven from the outset,” said Reid. “The current presentation and recommendation represents the culmination of the detailed design phase and full project costing and is based on what the community has told us they’d like to see in the Island’s future.”
The next community engagement session takes place on Wednesday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in the Athabasca Room, located on the second floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre. The full schedule of eight community engagement sessions can be found at macdonaldisland.ca/about-us/
