Nominations open for 2015 ONE Difference Award
The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) Board of Directors is accepting nominations for the 2015 One Difference Award until September 30.
Interested community members and organizations can submit nominations at ONErec.ca. The inductee will be selected by the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo Board of Directors and will be announced at the RRC Stakeholder Reception on October 24.
“Since 2011 this annual award has recognized members of our community that have displayed exemplary leadership in making our region a great place to live,” said Bruno Francoeur, RRC Board of Directors Chair. “This award, originally known as the MacDonald Island Park Walk of Honour and transitioned into the ONE Difference Award in 2014 to reflect the regional mandate of the RRC, is an opportunity for the Regional Recreation Corporation, a community-based organization, to honour individuals who have made a significant difference in our region through their efforts and leadership.”
The designation is an annual honour awarded to an individual(s) that has made an outstanding contribution to recreational, social, and/or cultural life in the Wood Buffalo region.
Previous recipients of the award were Wood Buffalo residents and community builders Brian Hatfield in 2011, John H. Wilson in 2012, Dave Kirschner and Ramona Morrison in 2013 and Elsie Yanik in 2014.
