Night Shift: Photography from Dusk until Dawn exhibition opens October 9
(Fort McMurray, AB, October 2, 2014) – The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is pleased to welcome Night Shift: Photography from Dusk until Dawn to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre in October.
Night Shift is a collection of photographic works from the Wood Buffalo Photography Club. This collection allows the participating photographers to embrace the unique challenges of night photography, using long exposure, motion blur, and available and ambient light to produce compelling images.
“We are delighted to welcome this collection of photographic works from Wood Buffalo photographers to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre,” said Russell Agnew, Interim Chief Operating Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “This exploration of night photography encouraged the artists to create stunning pieces inspired by a region that is as beautiful at night as it is during the daylight hours.”
The opening reception for Night Shift: Photography from Dusk until Dawn takes place at 7:00 pm on October 9 at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend. Night Shift will be available for viewing from October 9 until November 7.
