Fort McMurray, AB, July 27, 2012 – Signature classic rock act Nazareth presented by 100.5 K-Rock played well into the evening on Friday as the headliner of the third night of the Nexen Summer Rocks Series at MacDonald Island Park.
Nazareth entertained fans at the outdoor stage at MacDonald Island with internationally-known hits such as “Love Hurts,” “This Flight Tonight” and “Hair of the Dog.” Nazareth, which has toured worldwide for over 40 years, stopped at MacDonald Island as part of its eight-city Canadian tour.
Classic Canadian hard rock group Helix opened for Nazareth on Friday night, as it performed its iconic 1984 hit “Rock You” among other songs. Having toured internationally since the mid-1970s, Helix is also known for its appearances in recent years on Showcase’s Trailer Park Boys.
“Nazareth demonstrated why it has been touring the world for decades,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “Its mix of hard rock classics and epic ballads was the perfect addition to the Nexen Summer Rocks Series following Hedley and Tom Cochrane & Red Rider.”
