Movement Group Exhibition opens July 29 at MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery
The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is pleased to welcome the group exhibition Movement to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre in July.
MacDonald Island Park is acting as a host venue for some of the events at the Western Canada Summer Games 2015 Wood Buffalo, which promotes collaboration between local organizations, athletes, business and industry this August. Artists were invited to submit their favorite movement-themed pieces as part of this exhibition and celebration. The group exhibition features two dimensional artworks by local artists that explore the theme of movement in any style from traditional representation to abstraction.
“We are delighted to welcome this exciting group exhibition to the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Corporation this summer,” said Annette Antoniak, Chief Executive Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “As our region continues the preparations heading towards the opening ceremonies of the Western Canada Summer Games 2015 our community also has the opportunity to enjoy artworks from local artists celebrating movement as a central theme.”
The opening reception for the Movement exhibition takes place at 7:00 pm on July 29 at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend. The Movement exhibition will be available for viewing from July 28 – August 20.
