MLAs Scott, Allen to captain teams at WBCC Bus Pull
(Fort McMurray, AB, September 24, 2012) – The Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge committee is delighted to announce local MLAs the Honourable Don Scott and Mike Allen will captain teams at the Bus Pull, one of eight Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge events.
Scott, Associate Minister of Accountability, Transparency and Transformation and MLA for Fort McMurray-Conklin, will captain the Noralta Skating Club team, while Allen, MLA for Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo, will captain a team representing MacDonald Island Park.
The Bus Pull is slated to take place on Friday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. and will involve full teams of 12-16 members. Participants will be strapped to a 24-foot bus and will have 60 seconds to pull the bus over the line. The team with the best time will receive the most points.
“We’re honoured to have Minister Scott and Mr. Allen take part in the Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge,” said Jodie Mercier, Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge Co-Chair. “Both Don and Mike are incredible supporters of key community events such as this one and we expect them to lead some friendly competition at the Bus Pull on Friday.”
Managing the Bus Pull for Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge is Some Other Solutions, which is charged with coordinating, developing and implementing services related to crisis prevention, intervention and postvention in Fort McMurray and Northeastern Alberta.
The Wood Buffalo Corporate Challenge in support of Noralta Skating Club runs from Thursday through Sunday at MacDonald Island Park. The final schedule will be released later this week following the end of registration at Midnight. A premlinary schedule can be viewed at wbcc.ca.
