Miskanaw Golf Course now open for 18 holes of play
(Fort McMurray, AB, May 14, 2014) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to announce Miskanaw Golf Course is now open for 18 holes of play.
“We’re excited for what will be another stellar year on the course here at Miskanaw Golf Club,” said Rob MacGregor, CPGA Director of Golf & Grounds at the RRC. “Our grounds team has done an incredible job making improvements to the course over the winter and we’re in great shape with the season underway. We were very happy to open the back nine holes for play in late April, and we are now very pleased to announce the opening of the entire course for play.”
The Miskanaw Golf Club is in the process of a multi-year and multi-hole re-design that is nearing completion. Redevelopment on Holes No. 6 and No. 7 was completed in August 2013, with four more holes continuing to be redeveloped as the course heads towards the full redevelopment completion in 2015. This ongoing redevelopment will result in a course that accommodates the equipment changes in the golf technical world as well as creating a course that is more contemporary and playable for the future, and will see the course attain Royal Audubon designation.
Registration is also open for summer golf programs and camps, including Get Golf Ready, Golf Glam, and Junior SNAG (Starting New At Golf). Information on Miskanaw Golf Club programs, memberships and fees is available at macdonaldisland.ca/golf.
