Miskanaw Golf Club thanks members at annual Member Appreciation Night
(Fort McMurray, AB, May 23, 2014) – The Miskanaw Golf Club at MacDonald Island Park kicked off the 2014 season with its annual Member Appreciation Night on Friday at the Fox Den Lounge.
“Once again this year we wanted to thank all of our Miskanaw Golf Club members, our hole sponsors and the entire community,” said Rob MacGregor, PGA of Canada Director of Golf and Grounds of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC). “We were also pleased to share some information with our membership regarding the ongoing redevelopment of the Miskanaw Golf Course and some of our great golf programs for youth. We believe these programs are the future of our club as we foster the development of youth players, and it is thanks to the ongoing support of our members and partners that this is possible.”
Joining Miskanaw Golf Club members at the event were Don Scott, Associate Minister of Accountability, Transparency and Transformation and MLA Fort McMurray-Conklin; Mike Allen, MLA Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo; Tyran Ault, Acting Mayor and Councillor, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB); members of RMWB Council and members of the Board of Directors of the RRC.
The Miskanaw Golf Course is in the final year of a four year redevelopment designed to create a course that is modern, contemporary and playable for the future. Miskanaw Golf Club professionals are heavily involved in golf programs for local youth, including free golf lessons provided through local schools that have introduced over 7,000 youth to the sport since 2009.
