MI Community Art Gallery to open Water: Exploring Possibilities
Fort McMurray, AB, July 30, 2012 – The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is delighted to announce the grand opening of Water: Exploring Possibilities at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 2.
Water: Exploring Possibilities is a collective exhibition featuring 30 works by emerging artists in the Wood Buffalo region and explores the theme of water in any form and location and in various interpretations and conceptual connections. The exhibition will run through August 29.
“Following up on the tremendously successful Kurmi from the Latin Art Gallery is this month’s exhibition, Water: Exploring Possibilities,” said Michele Taylor, Director of Aquatic and Leisure Services at MacDonald Island Park. “We invite the public to attend the opening on Thursday as we share in this exhibition and engage with the team of community artists that have created it.”
Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Councillor Christine Burton will deliver remarks at the opening. Burton is also a member of the nascent Arts Council of Wood Buffalo and the proud proprietor of the new Yogen Fruz franchise located on the first floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.
Complimentary light refreshments and appetizers will be served.
