MacDonald Island Park expansion site clearing set to begin
(Fort McMurray, AB, September 24, 2012) – The clearing, mulching and stockpiling of organic materials required for the MacDonald Island Park expansion site gets underway this week.
Clark Builders commences fencing the perimeter of the expansion site on Tuesday, September 25, while clearing, mulching and accumulation of mixed soil and wood begins on Wednesday, September 26.
The organic materials derived from the process will be stockpiled at the expansion site for future use in the outfield ‘berm’ and tobogganing hill that will sit adjacent to the Tournament Centre.
“We’re excited to get started on what we believe will be an iconic addition to downtown Fort McMurray,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “We welcome the opportunity to re-purpose much of the cleared organic material into the ‘berm’ and tobogganing hill at the future Tournament Centre, as we set the stage for a great place for families to gather year-round.”
The clearing of existing sod at the expansion site will begin next week.
