MacDonald Island Park celebrates National Health and Fitness Day on June 6 with free classes
The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo is pleased to offer three complimentary fitness classes to community members ages 16 and over on June 6 in celebration of ‘National Health and Fitness Day’.
The free drop-in classes taking place at MacDonald Island Park on Saturday June 6 are as follows:
Yoga on the Balcony
Enjoy the sounds of nature, the warmth of the sun and beautiful views of the Miskanaw Golf Course. Exercise your mind, body and soul for a healthier life style. Beginners to Intermediates class, all Yogis welcome!
Outdoor Barre (All Levels)
All the fun and excitement of Barre® outdoors! This class is a combination of the principles of Ballet, Pilates and Yoga to help you build long, lean muscles and establish a strong core. Choreographed moves with upbeat music from many genres makes the class exciting, unique and fun!
Take your work out outside! This class turns the Miskanaw Golf Course into a strength, endurance, and cardio gym.
“We are delighted to offer these classes for free on June 6 as part of National Health and Fitness Day,” said Annette Antoniak, Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “These classes represent just a small sample of the many classes we operate to promote fitness, health and wellness in our community.”
