Kurmi to open July 5 at MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery
The MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation is delighted to invite the public to the official of opening of Kurmi on Thursday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m.
Kurmi, which means “window” in ancient Inca, is an exhibition from Fort McMurray’s Latin Art Gallery and features 30 paintings depicting landscapes, still life and abstracts. A silent auction, door prizes and complimentary appetizer-style offerings and light refreshments will be served as part of the opening. Kurmi will be on display until July 31.
“We are very much looking forward to this unique exhibition and we thank the Latin Art Gallery for its continued support of MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery children’s art programs,” said Michele Taylor, Director of Aquatic and Leisure Services.
The Latin Art Gallery is donating 10% of all sales in 2012 to children’s art programs and classes at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation.
Delivering remarks at the opening will be Ken Chapman, Chair of the newly-formed Arts Council of Wood Buffalo and Executive Director of the Oil Sands Developers Group and Fabio Santos, Director of the Latin Art Gallery.
