Keep Calm and Dance On recital closes out exciting year at Mi Dance Academy
(Fort McMurray, AB, June 4, 2014) – The Mi Dance Academy celebrates another successful year of dance with the year-end recital Keep Calm and Dance On, June 12-14 at Keyano Theatre.
As the dance year draws to a close, the Mi Dance Academy is celebrating several highlights and accomplishments, including strong student performance in the prestigious Society of Russian Ballet Examinations. In addition to individual achievement, the Mi Dance Academy Festival Team participated in its first competitive events including the Northern Dance-Off, Nova Dance Challenge and Peak Invitational Dance Competition. The Dance Team achieved strong results in each of these competitions, a significant accomplishment for their first year as a team.
In April Miss Kelli Stewart of Mi Dance Academy partnered with Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) Chief Executive Officer Tim Reid as celebrity dancers for the third annual Dancing with the Stars Wood Buffalo, a fundraising event for the Fort McMurray SPCA.
“It has been a tremendously successful year for the Mi Dance Academy,” said Tim Reid, Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “Enrollment has doubled since the end of last season and we are celebrating another great year with our year end recital. Sadly as this year draws to a close we also find ourselves saying good-bye to Miss Katie Eustace, a dance instructor who has been instrumental in the growth and development of the academy. We wish Katie all the best as she moves on to a new community, and thank her for all her contributions to Mi Dance Academy and ONE Team.”
