JUNO-nominated country artist Tim Hicks with special guest Tebey to play Nexen Field House August 16
(Fort McMurray, AB, May 21, 2014) – The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC) is pleased to announce JUNO-nominated country artist Tim Hicks with special guest Tebey presented by Country 93.3 FM will perform at Nexen Field House at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre on August 16.
Hicks rose to prominence in January, 2013 with his debut single “Get By”, which achieved Top 10 status on country radio in less than eight weeks. In August, 2013 Hicks released his debut album “Throw Down”, which debuted as the No. 1 selling Canadian album overall and No. 1 Canadian Country album on the Nielsen Soundscan Album Chart. Hicks has garnered two JUNO nominations as Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Country Album of the Year. In May 2014, Tim Hicks won the Breakthrough Artist award at the Canadian Radio Music Awards. “Here Comes The Thunder”, co-written by Hicks is the first single off his sophomore release is sure to rocket up the charts and get the party started this summer. Joining the party for this show is Canadian country singer-songwriter Tebey. Celebrating the success of his smash hit, “Wake Me Up” featuring Emerson Drive, Tebey is no stranger to the stage. 2014 has seen Tebey tour the country, promoting his sophomore album, Two. His appearance in Fort McMurray will include performances of Two’s breakout singles, “Till It’s Gone” and “Let It Down.”

Tickets for Tim Hicks, with guests Tebey, presented by Country 93.3 FM go on sale Friday May 23 at 10:00 am. General Admission tickets are priced at $59 plus applicable fees and taxes while Club tickets are available for $79 plus applicable fees and taxes.
