Community Registration Day presented by Syncrude brought almost 1,700 community members to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre on Saturday as they explored the many opportunities for involvement in sports, recreation, culture, arts, and other groups and organizations in the Wood Buffalo region.
Community Registration Day is a trade show format showcase of local groups and organizations allowing them to connect directly with the community in a one-stop shop event designed to assist community members to engage with local organizations and groups while also learning how they can become involved.
“Community Registration Day was another terrific success this year, with 77 groups and organizations participating,” said Amanda Cuthbert, Director of Sports and Recreation of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “Though collaboration with FuseSocial the event connected our community with the many opportunities they have to become more involved and developed networks that will be beneficial to the community as a whole.
