Children First art exhibition closing reception and live auction takes place December 4
The closing reception and live auction for the 4th annual charity art exhibit, sale and auction hosted by the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation and benefitting local social profit group Children First will take place on December 4.
The exhibition, currently available for viewing at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation, contains pieces of artwork which have been created by children in the Children First program, and are available for silent or live auction with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit Children First.
Children First strongly believes in the freedom of creative expression. To promote this a variety of materials were used in creating the artwork in the exhibit and the children voluntarily participated in the process. In doing so no two pieces of art look the same as each child explored the material differently. The children ranged in age from 6 months to 6 years.
“As the 4th annual charity art exhibition draws to a close we are excited to invite the community to attend the closing reception and live auction,” said Russell Agnew, Interim Chief Operating Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “We have been so pleased to have the opportunity to showcase the works of these talented young artists and look forward to an evening celebrating Children First and assisting them in continuing to pursue their mandate and vision in our community.”
The closing reception and live auction for the Children First Exhibit will take place on December 4 at 7:00 pm at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend.
