Brett Kissel brings down the house as headline entertainment at Syncrude Elite 10
Rising Canadian country music star Brett Kissel presented by Country 93.3 FM entertained an enthusiastic audience on Saturday evening when he headlined the entertainment at the Grand Slam Social House as part of the inaugural Syncrude Elite 10, a new event on the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling tour.
Kissel has been the country music story of 2014, with two number 1 videos on CMT, three top 10 radio hits, 8 nominations, two wins at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards and to top it all off a Juno Award for ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’.
“The audience of curling fans, country music enthusiasts and community members was thrilled by the performance from this hot country star,” said Russell Agnew, Interim Chief Operating Officer of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. “The Syncrude Elite 10 brings not only an opportunity to enjoy some fantastic Canadian music talent but also the chance to see the ten best men’s curling teams in the world battle it out on the ice to take top honours in the finals on Sunday.”
On Sunday morning finalists Team McEwen and Team Edin in the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling Syncrude Elite 10 will face off at CNRL Arena 2 in front of curling fans and a national television audience. The final draw will be followed by the Closing Ceremonies as the Syncrude Elite 10 concludes after four days of world-class curling that played host to international men’s curling teams, several Olympic-medal winning athletes, local and national media and thousands of curling fans and community members.
