Bigger and better Total Fitness Centre opens November 19
(Fort McMurray, AB, October 30, 2012) – A brand new and much improved Total Fitness Centre opens to the community on Monday, November 19 following an extensive renovation phase.
Located on the second floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre, the new Total Fitness Centre is the first deliverable of the Shell Place
project, which is well underway at MacDonald Island Park.
The new Total Fitness Centre will be nearly double the square footage of the previous facility and will feature a variety of new fitness and wellness equipment including cardio, resistance, cable and plate-loaded machines, benches and new dumbbells and weight plates.
“We thank our members and Total Fitness Centre users for their understanding as we get set to open the doors to what will be a sterling new development at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “During our Shell Place engagement sessions the community expressed desire for expanded health and wellness space at the Island. We believe this new facility delivers on our commitment to following through in a world-class fashion – on time and within budget.”
To prepare for the opening on November 19 and to install the aforementioned new equipment, the temporary Total Fitness Centre will be closed Wednesday, November 14 through Sunday, November 18 inclusive.
The official grand opening and new Total Fitness Centre ceremonial ribbon cutting takes place on Thursday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m. The community and media are cordially invited to this event.
