All facilities at MacDonald Island Park closed due to water shortage
(Fort McMurray, AB, October 4, 2013) – All facilities at MacDonald Island Park are closed effective immediately due to a water shortage.
The water shortage was caused by an off-Island issue and is not due to the operations at MacDonald Island Park or the Shell Place project site. MacDonald Island Park is working with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to resolve the issue as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Due to health and safety regulations community members have been evacuated from all facilities at MacDonald Island Park. The community will be informed when the facilities are safe to re-open.
“We thank the community for its understanding. This water shortage, caused by an off-Island issue, has required us to evacuate the facility as per health and safety regulations,” said Mike Bryson, Director of Facilities Management at MacDonald Island Park. “We will provide more information as it become available, and we will inform the community when the facilities re-open.”
