5th annual charity art exhibit, sale and auction to benefit Wood Buffalo Food Bank; Filling the Palette opens November 12 at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation
The 5th annual charity art exhibit, sale and auction entitled Filling the Palette and hosted by the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation will benefit the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, an organization with a long and proud history in the Wood Buffalo region.
“The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is delighted to partner with the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo for this exciting annual art exhibition, sale and auction,” said Arianna Johnson, Executive Director of the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. “We would like to thank the participating artists and the RRC for the opportunity to be part of this fifth annual event.”
The opening reception for the exhibition takes place on Thursday, November 12 and will serve as the kick-off to the online auction of ten artworks in the exhibit. 50% of the purchase price of the artworks will be donated to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, with the remaining 50% going to the artist. The remainder of the artworks on display will also be for sale. The online auction and gallery exhibition will close on November 29. The artworks available for auction can be viewed online at: 32auctions.com/fillingthepalette, with bidding on the artworks beginning on November 12.
“The arts community in Wood Buffalo is tremendously supportive of social profit organizations in the region,” said Annette Antoniak, Chief Executive Officer of the RRC. “This year we have developed an online auction component to allow art enthusiasts and Wood Buffalo Food Bank supporters from outside our region the opportunity to bid on the artworks, and we are pleased to partner with the Wood Buffalo Food Bank for this exciting annual event.”
The opening reception for Filling the Palette will take place on November 12 at 7:00 pm at the MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery presented by Kirschner Family Corporation. Light refreshments will be served and all community members are invited to attend. Attendees are requested to bring a non-perishable food item donation for the Wood Buffalo Food Bank.
