All-event passes for the National go on sale October 15
(Fort McMurray, AB, October 10, 2013) – Passes for the National, a five-day international curling event to take place at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre from March 12-16, 2014, will go on sale on October 15 beginning at 10:00 am MT.
The event, presented by MacDonald Island Park in collaboration with the Fort McMurray Oilsands Curling Club, is part of the Grand Slam of Curling and features the best men’s teams from Canada and around the world. The National will welcome 18 world-calibre teams to the region, and will be televised live across Canada on Sportsnet. Past participants have included Kevin Martin, Glenn Howard, Brad Gushue, Jeff Stoughton, and Randy Ferbey, while the event will contain a minimum of 12 draws.
CNRL Arena 2, location for part of the very successful 2013 M&M Meat Shops Canadian Junior Curling Championships, will be transformed for Sportsnet television crews, which will shine a spotlight once again on Fort McMurray and MacDonald Island Park.
“We are pleased to announce that passes to the National will be going on sale shortly,” said Jodie Mercier, General Manager of Sport and Recreation at MacDonald Island Park and Fort McMurray Organizing Committee Co-Chair. “We have already seen significant excitement over the announcement of this world class curling event coming to our region, and we anticipate it will be a tremendous five days of curling and community celebration on an international stage.”
An all-event pass for the National is $225 plus GST and applicable fees, while a VIP pass is available for $325 plus GST and applicable fees. All passes include access to the Nexen Field House Lounge and Entertainment area. Event passes can be purchased beginning on Tuesday, October 15 at macdonaldisland.ca or at MacDonald Island Park Guest Services, located on the first floor of the Suncor Community Leisure Centre.
