MIPC Mission
Macdonald Island Park is currently nearing completion on an extensive redevelopment project. Surrounded by the picturesque Miskanaw golf course, the state-of-the-art Suncor Community Leisure Facility will encompass many unique features, including a range of sporting and recreational amenities.

As a family oriented organization, MacDonald Island Park Corporation strives to enhance a sense of pride, identity and spirit in our community. The island will be an affordable and accessible gathering place for culture, leisure and recreational activities that will enrich the quality of life for our residents.

Our inclusive facility will accommodate the growing population. In addition to our already existing facility, we will be enhancing our services to the community with a number of special features. The community will be able to take advantage of a new ice arena, curling rinks, and leisure ice surfaces. A 200 meter running track will surround two indoor-field houses. Our 10,000 square foot fitness centre and child mind area, will allow for optimum health and wellness. As the only water facility of its kind in Fort McMurray, we will feature an ten-lane Olympic size pool, diving boards, hot tubs, an inner-tube river, water slides and Splash Park. Other exciting features such as squash and racquet ball courts are sure to please everyone. Our hospitality department will include a lounge, conference & meeting facilities and banquet room. As the host to many exciting events and programs, Macdonald Island Park is the place to be.
