The Suncor Community Leisure Centre offers a drop-in child-minding service for children 2 months to 7 years old, for up to three hours a day. Our child-minding service provides your child with a safe and nurturing environment to enjoy leisure time, while you workout, relax, attend a meeting or meet friends in the Centre.

Important Note: parents must remain on the premises while using the child-minding service.

Sundays:                         Closed for the Summer

$2.50 /child /30 minutes
$3.50/family (single household) /30 minutes
20punch cards (1/2-hour per punch): $45.00/child, $63.00/family

Child Mind Staff
All staff in the child-minding centre have standard first aid and CPR (including infant CPR) and a security clearance check.

Check In/Out Process
Parents will purchase either a single use pass or a 10-hour punch card for the child-minding service. These will be purchased at the Guest Services desk. All registration forms will be brought to the child-minding centre, and punch cards can be stored on-site.

Sign-in:

• When you arrive at the child-minding centre, our staff will record your full name, phone number and your child’s full name and age. Please identify if your child has allergies on the sign-in form Children with severe allergies or medical conditions will be given a specific colour wristband to help us to identify their needs.
• Our staff will provide you with a time card for the length of your stay if required. 
• Once you sign-in, you are welcome to enter the child-minding area with your child and get them settled.

Sign-out:

• Please pay for this service at Guest Services before returning to Child Mind.  If you have exceeded your 5 minute grace period please advise the Guest Services Representative that you have stayed longer than your time card.  (There is a 5-minute grace period… anything over 5 minutes will be charged the next half hour)  You may also purchase a punch card that can be scanned in Child Mind.
• Provide receipt of payment or punch card to Child Mind Staff and complete the sign-out form.
• Please gather your child and their belongings and enjoy the remainder of your day.

Activities:
Staff will encourage children’s participation with games, books, toys, puzzles, colouring and the indoor playground equipment. Staff and children will remain in the child-minding room and access the indoor playground when avaliable during your child’s visit.

Health and Safety:

• children play in close contact, which allows germs to be easily transmitted. In consideration of other children and staff, refrain from bringing children who are ill.
• our staff takes great care to ensure your child has a safe and enjoyable experience. For this reason,  photo identification may be requested 
• toys and equipment are disinfected daily to ensure a clean and safe play environment
• medications will not be distributed or administered by staff, with the exception of an EpiPen

Snack Time
We will have a designated snack times from:

• 10-10:30 am
• 1:45-2:15pm
• 6:30-7:00pm

Parents are encouraged to pack a snack for their child.
In consideration of children with allergies, please do not send snacks with peanuts or peanut products; popcorn is also discouraged as it is a choking hazard.
We are not equipped to serve lunch or breakfast. Please enjoy the use of our lobby to feed your child their meal prior to entering the child-minding centre.

Your Child Will Need:

• clean indoor shoes
• socks are required to access the indoor playground
• clearly labeled personal items (diapers, bottles, baby wipes, extra clothing, snacks, etc)
• if your child prefers a special toy, you are welcome to bring it along; however, please caution we cannot be responsible for lost, shared or damaged toys
• please take your valuables with you (i.e. purses, wallets, cash) and do not leave them in diaper bags
