Jaimeet , Executive Chef

Born and raised in India Jaimeet has always had a passion for cuisine. After completing his Diploma in Hotel Management in 1997 he joined the Cunard cruise lines. In 2003 Jaimeet was selected to join the team of chefs for the maiden voyage of RMS Queen Mary 2, and had the honour to cook for Her Majesty the Queen of England and Duke Phillip of Edinburgh. Immigrating to Canada in 2006 he joined Executive Hotels as Executive Chef, where he received the “Chef of the Year Award”. Having gained culinary knowledge from different parts of the world and a resume that includes working with Michelin Star Chef Michel Roux, Jaimeet now brings his creativity, innovation, and passion for cuisine to the MacDonald Island Park event experience.

Kelsey , Meetings & Events Manager

Kelsey was born and raised in Fort McMurray, Alberta and started her event management career in Toronto, where she completed her Fashion Marketing Diploma. While in Toronto Kelsey split her time between the renowned Fashion Group International and Lucid Communications, producing countless events. After two years with MacDonald Island Park as the Special Events Coordinator, where she was a key contributor to several successful community events, she moved into her current role as Meeting & Events Manager. Kelsey brings together a team of passionate professionals that strive for excellence in customer service, innovation in event planning, execution and production, and commitment to giving back to the community that they serve.

Meagan , Supervisor, Banquets

Meagan was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. At the age of 7 she began her first career path as a competitive synchronized swimmer. By the age of 12 she began competing at a national level, and in 2001 at age 17 she successfully joined the Canadian National Synchronized Swimming Team. In 2004 Meagan attended Sheridan College and graduated with a diploma in Interior Design. During her years at Sheridan she discovered a passion for hospitality and decided to redirect her focus towards the service industry. With eight years of experience in various positions Meagan currently works as the Banquet Supervisor. She and her team of professionals strive to continually uphold and exceed the MacDonald Island Park standard of high quality service.

Kailey , Events Specialist

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Kailey arrived in Fort McMurray in late 2011 after completing her Diploma in Event and Promotions Management from the Centre of Arts and Technology in Halifax. Her involvement in the community lead to her joining the MiTeam. Having been a part of the MiTeam for over a year, Kailey has become an integral part of planning many community, corporate and social events. Kailey is looking forward to working with you to bring your ideas to life, and using her skills and creativity to create an unforgettable event.

Melanie , Event Specialist

Melanie Matheson was born and raised Pictou County, Nova Scotia. She attended Holland College in Prince Edward Island where she received her diploma in Travel and Tourism Management. Melanie assisted in planning weddings, corporate meetings and community celebrations at Pictou Lodge Beach Resort, which ultimately led to her love of event planning and execution. Melanie joined MacDonald Island Park in 2012 as a leading force on the events team. Since then she has planned and executed a variety of events and continues to work on her skill sets and event development. Melanie's true passion lies in seeing her events come to life.

Heather , Event Specialist

Heather Grant has always had a passion for hospitality. After growing up in New Brunswick she went on to pursue a Diploma in Event Management from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI. Heather spent several years living and working throughout Eastern and Central Canada at a variety of renowned hospitality outlets. She has been an essential member of MiTeam since 2012, bringing with her an acute attention to detail, creativity and extensive industry knowledge. Heather is driven to create the best experience for her clients, and she will assist you with bringing together the details required to create an exceptional event.
